Lower back pain during pregnancy has got many causes.
Some of the reasons given to explain lower back pain during
pregnancy are mere myths which people spread through word of mouth and
are based on no research. One can learn the truth about the causes
through an informed research. Many mothers consult doctors because of
these problems. There is no known cure but a mother can survive by
adapting some practices. Lower back pain during pregnancy is common in
many mothers who have an underlying back ache problem. The best thing
is that you can avoid these pains completely. Here are some ideas on
how to do this:
1. Do not bend: Bending is one of the reasons as to why you get
lower back pain during pregnancy. You can do your chores from an angle
that is comfortable. You can use a mop as opposed to a cleaner which
makes you bend. When cooking, you should have the cooker elevated; and
for some chores, get someone to assist you.
2. A bath: This is an all time healer for a painful muscle. You can
try this once in a while. It works instead of having to withstand the
pain. You can use a hot bath. Heat is good for pain. However, in some
cases, you can also use ice cubes to get rid of the swelling and numb
the pain. There is no harm posed to either the mother or baby. These
are home treatments within your reach. You can try them. If they fail,
you can go for other ideas. Reports made by researchers have shown
that these ideas can sooth your painful back.
3. Go for treatment: If you have a backache problem, you should
take the initiative to see a doctor about it before you conceive. Some
medications cannot be used during pregnancy as they can cause some
health problems to the mother as well as the baby; you should go for
the treatment to the full length way ahead so that once you are
pregnant, you do not have to go through a painful backache
problem. This is a good way to prevent the pain rather than trying to
relieve it.
4. Do not be inactive: This is the worst decision you can
make. Sitting down or sleeping for many hours can aggravate the
problem. You should be up and down doing your work as long as you are
not straining yourself. You can achieve this through some simple
physical exercise or walking for a short distance regularly. You
should not be too active. Your body gets tired fast when you are
expectant. You should reserve the energy for you and the baby.
