Lower back pain in early pregnancy is a common problem which most expectant mothers experience.
Doctors say that that the cause of lower back pain in early
pregnancy is due to the increasing body weight. This brings imbalance
and some body tissues are overworked causing a strain. Most of the
pressure in pregnancy is placed on the back. This makes one feel tired
all the time. Lower back pain in early pregnancy can extend even
throughout the nine months. Doctors also say that the hormonal change
during the pregnancy can be blamed on the lower back discomfort. Some
other complains include lower abdominal pains. However, one should go
to see a doctor and have the cause established. It is not a good idea
to assume on the cause:
1. Do some exercises: You should resist the temptation to lie
down. You can attempt some exercise such as going out for a walk. This
is safe for both the mother and the baby. You should avoid rigorous
activities such as running or weight lifting. It is advisable that you
talk to a professional consultant on the activities that are good for
you. Lower back pain in early pregnancy can be dealt with by doing
some simple exercises.
2. Adapting an upright posture: When one is pregnant, the weight at
the front tends to make them feel like bending towards the front. You
should try as much as you can to stay in upright position. The earlier
in pregnancy you begin, the better for you. It relieves you the
discomfort as weight is not concentrated on one area of the body. When
seated, get a chair that can support you fully. When standing, do not
lean against objects in an awkward posture.
3. Resting: You should avoid strenuous jobs that tend to make you
bend all the time. You should try as much as you can to rest. This
will give your muscles time to rest. You should adapt the kind of a
posture that makes you feel comfortable. If you are uncomfortable, you
should change the position. It is a good idea to avoid things that
will affect your back. You should be careful with heavy loads.
4. Eat well: You should keep off foods that make your tummy feel
bloated or can cause constipation. It is healthy to drink a lot of
water and eat a lot of fiber. This will prevent the discomfort of
indigestion. If you are under medication that is causing the problem,
you should go back to the doctor. Lower back pain should not be
ignored in pregnancy. It could be a sign of a serious underlying
problem.
